About

Hello! In real life I’m known as Anna, a 28 year old still figuring out how to “grow up”. I live with my dear husband, a born and raised Russian through and through, in the USA but are tossing about the idea of moving back to Russia for a couple years. Nevertheless, I’m still searching for that “perfect niche” in life where I can combine my professional life with my wish-I-had-more-time-to-do-what-I-truly-love life. My absolute passions include languages, traveling, genealogy and ancestral research, Russian and eastern European culture, society and history.

But the arts and crafts are my ultimate passion. Having a mother who is the epitome of an artist – there’s no medium she hasn’t mastered or tried – I grew up surrounded by art and artists and crafts coming out the wuzzah! Pen & ink, charcoal, pastels, print-making and print-press, basketry, weaving, typography, piano, lithography, paper and pattern design, scratch-board, calligraphy, mixed-media, collages, sewing, fabric making, macramé, oil painting, gouache, etc. etc. Maybe it was all a bit of overkill because I completely stopped doing art altogether for long time.

Until recently, that is. Since marrying and buying a place with my husband, the creative urges that I thought I had lost forever have suddenly started to come back and it seems lately that everything inspires me! And, my latest interest is in all things interior design and, especially, decorating.

My hopes for this blog is to be about all the above mediums, but with a focus on personal inspirations involving interior design and decorating ideas and my discovery process of how too put all that inspiration into action. This blog, needless to say, will be a work in progress, a reflection of my search in finding a happy, creative yet intellectually stimulating happy medium in my life. My wanderlust for whatever kind of niche that gives way to.
